People around me are lately really obsessed with this drama which originated from Korea. It isn't hard to see why - The show is full of humour and twists at every turn, the love story between an alien and an actress is really cute and lastly, the show taught me values.
I haven't watched the entire show but if I were to be forced to be give a rating, I would give it 89 < x < 101. I have to type it the mathematical way because obviously I have no idea what number to pluck out between 90 to 100. But you get my point.
As much as Tumblr taught me values and the meaning of life and whatsoever, this show did too.
What it taught me
Cheon Song Yi's personality taught me that if I am not going to mean what I'm going to say, I am going to shut up and instead say what I really mean. Though her personality brings a hell lot of hate from the public, she doesn't change it. Why? Because she has to be true to herself.
On the Ferris Wheel in the theme park, Hee Kyung confessed truthfully to Song Yi for the first time. Hee Kyung told her that he would take care of her and her family for life and that he really loved her and, well, you know all those stuff people usually say in shows when they confess. Song Yi knew that if she married Hee Kyung, her mother would rip his money off (Hee Kyung is really rich) and she wouldn't have to worry about not being able to get married. Song Yi was about to say yes when the alien (Do Min Joon) stops time. After he allowed time to move again, Song Yi changed her mind and rejected Hee Kyung. She told him that she won't be able to live her life well if she had to marry him just because of his money. She knows that she isn't true to herself and she can't continue her life that way.
Yoo Se Mi, who later turned into a bitch, also taught me something. At the point she showed her true colours, it somehow told me that I should keep a lookout on who really are my friends and who are the curious ones. Maybe it's some recent happenings? I don't know.
Hee Kyung taught me that true love is pretty much undying. Just look at the love he has for Song Yi. He dumped his family time to spend time with her, he almost got killed by his father with a golf club when he said in his dad's face that he really loved her, he booked an entire theme park for her and blah. He also had a HUGE crush on Song Yi since middle school all the way until she was about 28 or so.
Jae Kyung taught me that you have to kill people who get in your way. It's a logical teaching, but I don't think I really want to apply it.
Either way, I think that this show is really good and it makes you pretty addicted to it after the first episode. I would recommend you to watch it unless you really can't stand love stories and aliens.
