Now THAT was fast. 2012 flew by like a lightning. However, I can't deny the fact that I had a lot a lot a lot of fun in 2012, and it was probably one of the best years in my life. :)
Anyways, I had quite a bit of excitement right at 0000hr on 1 Jan. Here's something stupid: I was trying to squeeze toothpaste on my toothbrush when I heard a loud BANG and I leapt out of the toilet :/
On that very day, it was my birthday too, so I did receive quite a number of birthday wishes. But of course, the excitement had to come to and end because there's school the very next day. Hey, why can't you just make school start on 3 Jan instead?
The next day in school, I met my new classmates. When I said that my birthday was the previous day, obviously no one believed me. -sobs- But after that was recess and I received another present from
FY and
E after getting one from
XY in the morning. The 3 of them obviously knows what I like, because
XY got me a 2NE1 album, and
FY's side bought me Rilakkuma stuff. :)
My form teacher this year is my last year's Geography teacher, Ms
C, with my co-form teacher being Miss
K, a teacher I have been seeing a lot since the very day I stepped into CCH. My subject teachers are, so far, still ok, and I'm coping well. But God knows what will happen as time goes? >< I better stop slacking and buck up.
E Hist lessons are quite cool, where we learn about horribly cruel rulers (Stalin and Hitler), World War 1 and many many other wars. Anyway, from what I learnt from E Hist class, Stalin and Hitler are both freaky. One killing so many people and in the end when he fell sick no one could cure him because the good doctors had been killed, and the other sending people to concentration camps and making them go mad. But oh well.
In December last year, I flew to Hong Kong for a short holiday. Here's some nice places for sightseeing so do try going over to those places if you can :)
Po Lin Monastery (Ngong Ping)
This is on Lantau Island, where you can find the HUGE Buddha on the top of a hill. To get up the hill, you have to climb 250 steps (climb-till-you-pant-like-mad). Right below, you can find some little shops selling quite a lot of souvenirs (is that how you spell it?) and
tau huey, or silky beancurd (or smth like that). There's a stall that sells really delicious beancurd made from the water from the hill, noodles, as well as sausages at a really cheap price. However, that stall is hidden very well, so you probably have to look for it yourself.
How to get there: It's not difficult. You either pay more to go onto Ngong Ping 360, a cable car which breaks down quite often, or pay less and take a bus. To get to the Ngong Ping cable car station, you either cab there, or take the MTR (aka train) to Tung Chung station.
Star Ferry (To Wanchai or Central)
Star Ferry is like a fossil because it has been a form of transport for many many many years! It takes you to Hong Kong island, which is like the City Hall / Bugis / Orchard of Singapore. It's horribly busy there, but what you see there is priceless. Something you won't really get to see in Singapore - Really old buildings.
How to get there: Take the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui station. You can also take a public bus (which I have no idea what bus to take LOL) or even cab if you have lotsa $$$.
Trams
Hong Kong island (to me) is well known for their trams! They go ding ding whenever they stop or even go, and it's also like a fossil because it's been around for quite some time too.
How to get there: Honestly, I don't really know because after getting off Star Ferry from Central, I had to walk quite a distance before I find a tram station!
Temple Street
Temple Street is a nice place to shop for cheap stuff and also a nice place to find good food. There is a stall which I particularly like, for their food is simply heavenly yet sold at a cheap price with a huge serving. How awesome is that?
How to get there: Basically, the nearest MTR station would be Yau Ma Tei station, but I usually walk from Jordan station. Suits you..
Ap Liu Street
This street is another place to shop, but to shop for olden day toys, sunglasses, and tools. Quite a bit of yummy food there too.
How to get there: Take the MTR to Sham Shui Po station.
Ocean Park
Ocean Park has been renovated, and it's a beauty now. There's a HUGE aquarium, pandas and much much more! (I wanna work there someday HAHA)
How to get there: Beats me. I can't remember!!
The Peak
The very place where I HATED carbonated drinks for life. When I was 3, my parents brought me up there and got a can of carbonated drink. I wanted to try so I stuck my head over. After that sip, I never liked carbonated drinks. The Peak is the very place you can find the wax museum, whereby there's even a wax statue of Mr Lee Kuan Yew! -claps-
How to get there: Take a tram up, but NO not the tram you find on Hong Kong island!!
Aaaaaaaaaaand yup! That's about all.. So TTFN and have a nice year! :)
